550™ Relaxed Fit Jeans - Black
After the '70s were over, things got more relaxed—including our jeans. In 1985, we introduced the 550™ jean. It had the same quality and craftsmanship as the original 501® style, but more room in the seat and thigh. Today, it's still a classic for guys looking for a solid work jean or just an everyday laid-back look.

These jeans fit just as I wanted them too. Not too tight but not too loose either. Would recommend them to anyone. Just make sure you keep a lint brush with you.

These jeans are not as heavy of a quality denim as what I usually buy. I would not putchase another pair.

The rise on these jeans is comfortable to me, because the waistband sits on top of my hip bones. This keeps my pants from sliding down, it keeps my shirttail tucked in, and it gives me good room in the crotch. This is the rise which used to be used on the old 505 jeans.
The 550 is just a wider legged version of that, so that there is more freedom for moving the leg up and down.
The black fabric is heavy, so it hangs well and the pants don't look clown-like. The lack of artificial damage to the fabric is also a plus for me.
Levis company: Please, please put this rise back on the 505s, which were once very comfortable pants. We know that fashion is toward hip huggers, and you have changed the 505 to incorporate a low waist, but there is a sizable market of us who would like the old cut with the higher rise like on these wonderful 550s.

Great jeans, however, the color fades after a few washes. Also more color options would be great, like dull blues and khaki.

Relaxed fit are a good replacement for the 501s of my youth. Thank heavens they fit so nicely! And they last and last and last. I never desire designer jeans when I can have my Levi's.

I love Levi Jeans and I loved the color of the jeans. All of my jeans are a 32 x 32 and that is what size I ordered. They were way too tight. I will be returning these for a bigger size.

I got the black jeans to add to my "dress up" clothes. I bought the exact size and style as my blue jeans from a previous order, these run a little small. But still happy with the product.

i am a bigger gentleman and love that these jeans are not tight on my thighs. you can't buy 40 X 34's in most stores. the price of these jeans is also the best. they wear forever unlike the off brand ones you get at dept stores. no need spending small money for a pair you can't wear very long. spend just a little more and you won't have to buy another pair in a very long while making it a better buy. won't buy anything except this style and brand. ever............

I ordered the same jean (550) style in the same size only in different colors -- not two of the colors fit the same in the waste or length... The black jeans are shorter than the rest and tighter in the waste... Actually, too small... I had already took all of the tags off, so I'm stuck with jeans that don't fit... In addition, there wasn't a "return policy" in the package -- just the jeans... I'm a big fan of Levi's jeans, but doubt I'll order via online again...

I've recently purchased two pair of 550's in a major department store that fit perfectly. So when Levi.com had a sale I didn't hesitate to buy another. So being confident and comfortable with the fit of the 550 I didn't bother to try them on when they were delivered. I even removed the tags and put them in the closet. Imagine my surprise when I finally put them on and they were to tight !! How does that happen ? My other 550's still fit fine, not the new ones though. Guess I'll have to keep shopping in the store. Very disappointing.

I like baggy but not too baggy. I used to wear Silvertab but now the 550's seem to be the closest thing and they fit perfectly.
