517™ Boot Cut Jeans - VIP
Designed in 1969 to fit over stiff leather boots, the 517™ Boot Cut Jean has been tried and true for generations. Cut to sit below the waist, relaxed through the seat, thigh and knee—with an authentic boot cut opening from knee to ankle. They're durable, comfortable, and covers today as well as they did yesterday.
Just to echo the sentiments of the previous reviewer - these are a great color addition to the 517 line. They are of a lighter weight material than that of the rigid or black versions, and they also throw in some elastane for a bit of stretch. Very comfortable to wear.
Color is solid with no sanding or fake fades. They do have some slight creases at the lap, but not too heavy.
I wear a 30x34, so if you don't see them on the Levi's website, know that they are out there - you just have to search.
I truly love these jeans. I must say that I am honored to be the first person to review this awesome addition to the 517 line! I am a Levi's man through & through & probably wear the 517 the most of all the different Levi's 'species' as I call them. I wear Frye Boots most of the time so I need Boot Cut Jeans & the 517 is my favorite. I love the 527 as well but a slight notch goes to the 517 for me. I do not own slacks or khakis or shorts. I have Levi's & some wool pants for severe winter. Now this new Grey color is so welcomed in the 517 community, I will speak for all 517 fans here, it is not to be believed. 517 fans have been patiently waiting for an addition to the line for a long while now & this color & slightly different fabric was well worth the wait! In my humble opinion. The color is a beautiful dark charcoal grey, a great color that goes perfectly well with black or brown. Now the fabric is a little different because Levi's added polyester to the cotton mix. As an old school type I sort of resisted the idea. How wrong I was! The little bit of poly. added to the jean makes it immediately soft as a peach without sacrificing any of the tough & durable qualities we need/desire in our Levi's...especially in the 517. I've spent much of my life with horses & hunting with dogs & I know what I mean when I say, "tough & durable". Trust me folks, I'm 48 yrs old & have been wearing Levi's & nothing but for the last 40 years. These are tough, soft, a great color, will no doubt last & take as much abuse as any Levi jean ever made (maybe more) & still look great. The weight is also a perfect 4 season weight. Perfect from Minnesota to Mississippi. Ummmm, I just realized I have to buy a 'back up' pair of these in my size pronto! Because they are that good & I am really hoping this is not some one shot deal with Levi's-----therefore I gotta grab another while they're still out there. Buy em', if you are a Boot Cut person I guarantee you will LOVE these! I'd give higher than 5 STARS if it were possible, these are amazing.
