The width is perfect for casual office pants or jeans and the buckle is actually less scratched than the image. However, the belt arrived bent rather than rolled and two places where it was bent, the black color is already worn to visible cracks. I store belts hanging, so I do not anticipate any further damage other than through normal wear and I have not worn it too much yet to see how fast the color gets damaged but because of that damage I would not be able to use this belt at work with my suites, only with casual pants or jeans. The size is based on wearing on a hip level, I would need to go a size smaller if I need to cinch at waist (hourglass figure).
