I'm a young (26 year old) woman with a spandex allergy - finding true 100% cotton jeans is next to impossible...Aside from these Levi's 501s, the only other 100% cotton jeans out there either have "stylish" rips or are baggy and look like Mom Jeans! These are great fitting - they are straight leg and look good with flats, heals, and work with boots too. The dark denim rinse goes with everything and is polished enough to pull off at work or as a dressier look. They do have a slightly higher waist and button fly - neither would be my first choice - but the pockets are placed well and the higher waist keeps the look clean and prevents any gapping in the back.
I honestly would have bought these even if I didn't need to because of the allergy - they are a great quality jean with a classic look. Needless to say, I now have a bunch of pairs and I'm not sure what I would do without these jeans!
About myself: I am on the petite/slim side, 120 lbs, 5'3" and I order a size 26. On the model the jeans look more baggy like boyfriend jeans, but on me they look fitted (but not tight) ...I could size up if I was looking for more of a boyfriend jean look.

First of all - why can't Levi's keep these jeans in stock? First there were none available, then one day a 31 x 32 so I ordered it. Too large but nothing to exchange it against as there are no 30 x 32 for sale. Why can't Levi's keep up with orders for 501's? Then the material is actually thin and stretchy and the waist is higher on the women's version than the man's. There should be a version of 501's always available that are at least similar to the originals - thicker denim, and hip high without stretch.d

Always wore the 501 b/f 27 x 32 Men's or Students in the same size, uh, these are not sized the same, I SWAM in them! Going to return to try the 26 x 32. Not the heavy "shrink to fit" demin, MAJOR BUMMER! The rise is high on these, maybe a smaller waist size will fix that...just miss the ol' regular 501's :(

The rise is much higher than the 501's used to have. The denim is also much thinner and stretchy now. Boooo!

I had bought 2 pr of the faded--had an actual hole in knee - tho my preference is not as dark as these are, I ordered to see how they were. They are a perfect fit 28x32. Unlike the other reviewer (we're all individuals) the top button is a good 1 3/4 inches below my navel. They do shrink a bit in length, maybe an inch, when washed. So, remember that.
The denim is heavy enough. Not like the 13 3/4 oz of the olden days but 100% cotton.
But I shall now stop trying other Levis that never fit quite like I'd like and wait for next special on web orders and get some more.

Nice color, nice fit, but the rise is just too high for my taste. I've been wearing the men's 501s shrink-to-fit since the 1970s (!) and I guess I was expecting a similar rise but with allowance for feminine curves. These are good jeans, though, if you don't mind a rise slightly over your navel.
