I mostly wear 501's, but have always wished that 501's had a lower waist and slightly narrower legs. The lower waist on the 559 is great, but the're too loose everywhere else. I'd even suggested this to Levi's once or twice, so I was happy when they came out with the 504.
When ordering my first pair, I went with one that was 100% cotton, because I don't really consider stretch denim to be real jeans. The pair I received was very nice and close to what I've wanted for years, but it still fell short by quite a lot. Specifically, while they look nice while wearing, the waist is ridiculously low, which is fine if you're just laying around, but not if you're actually using them for outdoor activities where jeans are normal attire.
For one thing, wearing a belt with these is just uncomfortable, because the 5 belt loops sit on the hips and a belt just restricts movement. Having said that, these don't really need a belt and probably aren't meant to be worn with belts (fyi, I like wearing belts and often use them to hang tools while working.) Even a slim wallet is uncomfortable, because it contributes to a general feeling that they're falling off, even though they're actually not.
They're probably great for laying around during the hot Summer, but I have no need for jeans that restrict work and outdoor activities. The inseam also seems a little short, although that's a problem I find with many Levi's jeans. The old 521's were similar to these, except they had tapered legs and a slightly higher waist, which I much prefer.
In summary, these would be perfect if Levi's would only raise the waist a little, as long as the inseam is long enough and they're not stretch denim. I know some guys like the low waist, but while it's probably great for laying around playing video games, it's not very functional for wearing jeans for the reasons they were invented.
No, I do not recommend this product.

I usually wear 514s but I saw these 504s and gave it a shot. I'm glad I did. The fit is very similar to 514s.I'm 6'2" and got the 34X34. I do have to roll the bottoms, but that doesn't matter to me.
I recommend this product!
