I am a girl, and I have long admired boy pants from afar, admiring their actually usable pockets and thicker-than-paper material. I saw these pants in an e-mail, and immediately fell in love. But of course, they were boy pants, and the women's section had not a hint of the awesome that these pants were exuding. I went into Levi's, with guarded hope that these pants, with their looser cut around the thighs, would be flattering on my very full bottom. Am I ever glad that I did! I wasn't sure how boys sizing worked, but I got 32, 33, and 34 inch waists, not paying attention to length. I am 155, 5'5 (a lot of fives!) and usually wear size 10 in women's. The 33 was perfect on me, but I went for the 32 since I knew Levi's loosen up while you wear them. Three weeks after, and they have done nothing but pleasantly serve me since then. First off, they were on sale. I would have bought them even if they weren't, but this was a nice surprise. Second, this color is so unique; they are such a deep purple that they almost look brown. Third, I was worried that the reflective tape would look dorky when I rolled up my pants, but they are discrete enough to not be too flashy. Fourth, I actually do bike, and the reinforcement and/or gusset on the thigh inseam is much appreciated; there's almost no constriction while pedaling. However cool these jeans are, though, there are some things that might bother the average buyer. While biking, I keep my phone in the back pocket, and it does get a little wet from sweat when I pull it out. Also, the u-lock tab on the back is more for smaller u-locks. Mine is about 10 inches long, and it was just awkward to have it in the tab, but this may just be due to my rotund butt. Knowing this info beforehand, would I still buy these pants? Darn tootin' I would! I haven't been excited for a pair of pants like this in a long time, and the quality and style have just blown me away. Levi's delivers, and though I have been waning, these pants a revived my faith. I'll never go anywhere else for pants. Now, what's this I hear about a commuter jacket...

these pants are great- but just a warning- if you order the "burntwood" color don't expect it to be brown. the photos online and the color description make it seem like they would be a nice dark brown. turns out they are like a purple/red hybrid that won't match much of anything. i'd buy these again if they were in normal colors like black and tan. "burntwood" isn't so cool.

Levi's Commuter line has proven to be extremely useful to me as a bike commuter in the Pacific Northwest (rainy Oregon). The features are great for both biking and reasonably good protection from rain (not rain gear good but still quite effective). I really like the fabric that the "twill" pants are made from (such as this color-"Burntwood"). It is almost denim-like in texture and appearance which gives it a nice sturdy feel. The 511 fit is great for biking but I really prefer the 510 Super Skinny fit since I feel 511s are a bit too loose fitting (just my opinion). The color ("Burntwood") of these pants is best described as a very deep, dark maroon color (slightly more purple than most burgundy/maroon colors)...perhaps a good description is "wine" or "plum". This seems in conflict with the color name "Burntwood" which would imply some sort of dark brown. Since I like interesting colors and especially dark colors, I really love these pants. I feel like the waist of this particular color is a little larger than other Commuter pants I have (maybe it is just an anomalous pair since the Commuter sizing seems more consistent than with normal Levi's jeans). Overall, these are by far my favorite color to date on a very functional, comfortable and seemingly durable pair of jeans

I love the commuter series, so i tried these out. They'll go back, as I've worn them 2x and haven't washed them but they're falling apart. There's a little elastic tab that keeps the front pockets from falling open, and that's already stretched out and unraveling. It looks kinda ratty, so I'll return them.
Otherwise, they're great pants....just wish the elastic tabs were better; they'd have 5 stars otherwise.
No, I do not recommend this product.

As a huge fan of Skinny Jeans and Pants, I am glad to add this pair of 511's to the other 24 pairs of 511 skinny jeans in my wardrobe. This pair of pants fits extremely well along the waist and thigh areas. I wear a 30/30.The extra seam is very comforting when sitting down. After wearing the pants 3-4 times, they have molded quite well to my body. The color is very unique, expanding almost anyones wardrobe. These pants look great with black, white and maroon colored clothing. Looks quite precessional when wearing a white button down shirt. Last but not least, YOU WILL HAVE TO TAKE CARE OF THESE PANTS!! They're not from subpar companies like True Religion and whatever else you find in Macy's and Bloomingdales. These are Levi's :)
