520™ Extreme Taper Sta-Prest™ Pants - Light Moss
In 1964, Levi Strauss & Co. introduced a new process at its plant in Knoxville, Tennessee – giving a permanent, sharp front crease to non-denim pants. These pants are flawlessly designed to maintain their crease, wash after wash. This version features our popular 520™ Taper fit, oversized to be worn low and slouchy on the hips. Skinny on down the leg, it tapers to a super skinny leg opening.
the look of these pants is fantastic...classic and traditional with an edge. i was a tad disappointed that they didn't fit me properly...hence the 'average' rating. if you have 'cycling thighs' like me, you will not do well with these. the cut is skinny enough in the thigh that i literally felt the seams stretching. i've since ordered and loved the 508 jean and would love to see the sta-prest fabric in that style! definitely in love with that vintage almost european-feeling taper! more please...in something that fits guys with athletic legs!
Just got these in the mail. They are perfect - the Mad Men look. This is the classic 1960's tapered style that is so hard to find today. They fit loose enough in the waist and seat so they are not the skinny fit kids wear.
Levis, great work! Keep it up and thanks for bringing back the tapered look. I am a fan.
These are my new favorite Levi's; my new favorite pants. They're slacks – they're 65% polyester and have a permanent crease – but they're also jeans – five-pocket design, modern tapered fit. I have worn them both at school for student teaching and to a bar and felt absolutely natural in them.
So far, out of the 520s, this is the pair that makes the most sense. I have a pair of the black slub twill 520s, but it's a little tight and kind of cuts of circulation. These fit right but don't look to slouchy, and they don't squeeze my thighs (as much) when I sit down.
I'm a 44 year male, that was very active at one time. I still maintain a high level of fitness, so I have fairly large thighs. I've had the 501, 505, 550 and 560 series jeans, but I hate the wide leg opening. I 520's give me just enough room inthe thighs, kind of tight inthrough the calves, but OK. The 520 is a great option for older guys that have maintain a althetic shape with looking like a tweaker, or skate board kid nor the old guy who's waist is longer then their inseam. I like the fact Levi's had made the 520 in cotton as well as denium.
