My number one tip: If you want to buy a pair of shrink-to-fit Levi's, FIND AN ONLINE GUIDE ON HOW TO SHRINK THEM TO FIT. The article will tell you what size to buy and what steps to take to get your awesome custom-fit jeans.
Anyway, when I used one of these guides, these pants were awesome. At first I was put off by how tough they were and the button fly, but they soften up after wear and I got used to the button fly quickly (advantage: no zipper to break).
The color of these starts off black. Just black. Only now, after wearing them since July, have they been worn enough to get any brown/"chocolate" tint.
One thing you might not like: where these jeans fade due to wear, they get a little "powdery" look—the worn area gets white, kind of looking like there's flour or chalk on it. Again, at first I thought this was weird (and tried to rub it off), but I'm fine with it now. I want another pair of Levi's shrink-to-fits now!

Good pair of jeans. Not as chocolate as the photo suggests, but I'm sure they will lighten up. Dressy pair of 501 Shrink-to-fit jeans, though I don't see what originally made this pair retail so high. I got them on sale, so not a problem however.

I purchased two pair of jeans in this order with the 501® Original Shrink-to-Fit Jeans - Chocolate Brown Black Fill. These fit fine after washing; however, the other pair, which were not shrink-to-fit, shrank to the point that I had to return them. This pair fit fine, and I am wearing them often. The other thing about these jeans is that they are not really chocolate brown. They are just black button-up jeans.
I recommend this product!

These jeans seemed a little bit darker wash than anticipated when I purchased them, but I figured after a few washes they would lighten up. Washed once inside out in cold water and when removed the jeans had a mottled/acid wash look to them. Kind of disappointing but I'm hoping after wear and a few more washes that this will correct itself. I've worn shrink-to-fit exclusively for a few years now and this is the first time this has happened to me.
No, I do not recommend this product.

i don't know why the shrink to fit jeans are not sized to what they will shrink to after washed. Thank goodness there is a Levi's store in San Francisco and they allowed us to exchange the jeans for the 501 original preshrunk.
Do not purchase these jeans unless you want to hand wash your jeans, line dry till damp and wear damp (yuck). If you put them in the dryer (even on delicate) they shrink beyond belief. Also the color rubs off on light colored T-shirts and light colored couches. It was a big mess. The unwashed jeans are too big to wear unwashed and too small washed.
No, I do not recommend this product.

These jeans are amazing! The color is super nice and I love them. Only thing is that they come stiff and feel like cardboard but that will go away when you wear them and break the stiffness. These jeans are cool. I recommend them, these jeans are like my favorite pair now!!!

These are a nice pair of nearly Black 501's that look really cool when you roll up the cuff's. The cuff's will be very Black, and the outside of the pant's almost Black. It's a good look.
